A captivating spa town
At BestPark Ikaalinen Spa, you can have enriching experiences. Ikaalinen is a small town made up of a number of fascinating villages with a scenic environment and a great deal to see and do. It is known above all as a spa town, but also as a town of culture, education and tourism.
Filling up your holiday with activities is easy in Ikaalinen. In addition to admiring lake scenery, you can enjoy great nature trails, visit the Anjala horse farm, play golf at a countryside course or take a day trip in the captivating Seitseminen National Park on the border of Ikaalinen and Ylöjärvi. Ikaalinen offers amazing fishing opportunities as well as a variety of other outdoor activities. You can relax in the Ikaalinen Spa, opened in 1884 and recently renovated. The caravan park is only 300 metres from the main building of the spa. In addition to water activities, the renovated spa has restaurants, an R-kioski shop, a bowling alley and a beauty salon, and more.
The town of Ikaalinen has a strong musical tradition. In summer, the town hosts a colourful festival named Sata-Häme Soi, which showcases accordion music. Other events in the town include Saunafestivaalit (“Sauna Festival”) and Puistofilosofia (“Park Philosophy”). Wanha Kauppala (“Old Market Town”), next to the centre of Ikaalinen, is also worth experiencing, as it has been described as the oldest, smallest and most beautiful market town in Finland.
The city of Tampere is only around 50 kilometres away. There you will find the popular Särkänniemi amusement park. Other cities, such as Turku, Vaasa, Jyväskylä are all less than three hours’ drive away, as is the Helsinki metropolitan area.
